Natural Help for Kidney Stones

Is there anything that can help get rid of kidney stones naturally?  These small little “stones” build up in the kidneys and cause a great amount of pain. There are two different types of kidney stones but we have seen this simple suggestion work on everyone who has ever tried it–without fail–thus far. You do NOT need drugs, surgery, or ultrasound treatments.

You simply take 10 Alfalfa every hour for a day or two.  Usually within 24 hours or less, the kidney stones have dissolved enough to pass on into the bladder or even just disappear.  We suggest continuing the 10 Alfalfa per hour for a day after all the pain has passed just to make sure the stones have completely disappeared.

Some say Kidney Stones are caused by a build up of calcium. This is absolutely false. Calcium stones–and hypercalcemia in general–are a result of calcium deficiency, poor absortption of calcium due to coincident nutritional deficiencies (like Vitamins K or D), or an acidic body chemistry that prevents proper calcium utilization.

In response to an article about calcium being the source of Kidney Stones, a good friend and nutritionist wrote:

Regarding the rather silly article on calcium being the “secret killer” — yes, calcium and other macrominerals accumulate on the sticky oxidized clumps of cholesterol to form the plaques that block arteries.  But to blame it on calcium — which is absolutely essential for the health and life of every cell of the body, and especially the brain and central nervous system — is utterly ridiculous and preys on people who don’t know enough about nutrition and how the body works to know better.

The root cause of artery blockage is homocysteine, a byproduct of normal metabolism.  This is how it works:

Cholesterol is absolutely essential to the life and energy productions of every cell of the body and is the foundation of some of the most important hormones in the body, both the reproductive hormones and the hormones that control brain chemistry.  Your liver produces most of the cholesterol in your body, and normally it is present in the blood stream and flowing smoothly.

When a person’s diet is deficient in antioxidants — especially those anitoxidants that are particularly effective in neutralizing homocysteine, like vitamins C, E, coenzyme Q-10, and resveratrol — homocysteine in the blood comes in contact with the cholesterol and oxidizes it.  When the cholesterol oxidizes, it curdles up into sticky clumps — something like what would happen if you put lemon juice into your milk.

[The so-called "bad" cholesterol, the low density or LDL cholesterol, is not really "bad."  It is only called "bad" because it oxidizes more easily that the higher density, or HDL, part of the cholesterol.]

These sticky clumps of oxidized cholesterol stick to the sides of the blood vessel walls.  Then the calcium and other macrominerals in your blood stick to it and form plaques that build up and block the flow of blood (and its oxygen and nutrients).  If the blood flow and oxygen are blocked long enough in an artery feeding the heart muscle, your heart muscle goes to sleep — just like your hand goes to sleep if you lay on it long enough and cut of the circulation to it.

When your hand goes to sleep, you can’t move it until you get the blood and oxygen flowing again.  When your heart muscle goes to sleep, it stops moving in the same way for the same reasons — it’s just that when your heart muscle stops moving it then cuts off blood and oxygen to the whole rest of the body, including the brain, and you keel over and die.

The blame does not rest with the cholesterol — so getting your cholesterol down is irrelevant.  Just as many people die of sudden heart attack who do NOT have elevated cholesterol as those who do.

The blame does not rest with the calcium and minerals that stick to the oxidized cholesterol.

The blame lies with the homocysteine and a diet that is deficient in the very basic antioxidants that should be present and taking care of the homecysteine on a routine basis.  Many studies have shown that a diet adequate in antioxidants lowers the risk of heart attack to virtually zero.

In addition to the basic antioxidants I’ve mentioned above, the Creator has put into nature in the foods HE has provided (not generally present in the fake foods that man has invented in a food laboratory) literally hundreds of antioxidants that can do the job.  That’s why just about every week there is a new study that comes out saying “blueberries good for the heart,”  “grape juice good for the heart,” “green tea good for the heart,” “such and such an exotic fruit juice good for the heart,” etc. etc.

So using some “oral chelation” product to remove the calcium/cholesterol plaques from the arteries might be helpful in the short-term, but it does nothing to address the core root issue of cholesterol oxidation due to antioxidant deficiency.  If you are getting adequate levels of vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q-10, and the myriad of other rich antioxidants the Creator has supplied, you won’t have a need for “oral chelation.”

Hosea Lives

As I write this morning, there is sadness mixed with so much thankfulness at all God has done in Nathan and I over the past 4 years. I’m so thankful that I can be sad, cry, and miss my son without going to the dark depths of depression that I once got sucked into the moment I let myself “go there.” God has redeemed, and is redeeming, all that the enemy has stolen. The fullness of this redemption continues to be unveiled as we choose to live one day at a time, trusting in his faithfulness, goodness, and steadfast love.

Four years ago, on Palm Sunday 2006 (his birthday is actually April 9), Hosea Nathan Oates came into the world at 1:09 am.  Palm Sunday is the day when they said “Hosanna, Hosanna,” i.e. “Come save! Come save!”  Yeshua, or Jesus, means “Salvation” and so does Hosea.

Over the past 2 years especially, God has began to take us on an incredible journey of discovering who He is at a deeper level. This word, “Salvation” has come to mean more then just “Get out of hell free.”  Salvation in Greek is Sozo, which means “Saved, healed, and delivered.”  When Christ died, he purchased so much more than forgiveness of sins for us! The whole package is forgiveness and salvation from our sins, healing for our bodies, and deliverance from evil-”sozo.”

So today, I reflect on all that I receive in my Savior’s salvation and the numerous specific instances where his “sozo” has been so evident, times where I thought I would not make it and could not go on with the pain that was in my heart. He is Savior, Healer, and Deliverer!

I love how God works in seeming paradoxes. While I am not thankful for how the enemy has stolen from us, I am thankful that Hosea’s death has been a catalyst for so much life.  How can this be?  Well, because we do not serve a God who is the God of the dead. He is the God of the living. Matthew 22:32 says, “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ So he is the God of the living, not the dead.”  God said he was the God of those three men long after the has passed away. And is didn’t say “I WAS there God.” No, he IS there God because they are very much alive, even today. One day we will see them all! So my son is not dead. He is very much alive and always has been. It’s not “I loved my son, but I love my son.”  He is alive!

As a mom and dad, we will always ache for our son–he is a piece of our flesh and blood. I’m reminded daily as I watch my children grow that there is a “gap” between Eden and Asher where Hosea’s little head should be. So I have moments where I cry and let out the sadness, and then I resolve all over again to trust.

And to choose to remember this (and it IS a choice….not easy, but possible by His grace): Easter is all about the resurrection of Jesus. Because of this wonderful gift of resurrection life, we do not mourn as the world mourns. Because He live, Hosea lives. Thank you Lord.
