“Serena was diagnosed with mild asthma when she was 2, though she had symptoms from three months on. Her doctor prescribed Albuterol Syrup, the same drug used for inhalers. At first, she only needed syrup when she had a cold. It made her throw up. While in preschool, she got cold after cold. We’d giver her syrup every morning and evening and she’d throw up every morning and evening.
I read Adele Davis’ book, Let’s Have Healthy Children. For allergies and asthma she recommends a wide variety of vitamins. We gave Shaklee vitamins to Serena. The results were astounding. With the first dose of vitamins, she no longer needed medication. When we forgot to give her vitamins, the asthma and vomiting came back. Her teachers also noticed improved behavior. Before Shaklee, she was willful and could not listen or concentrate well. Now she’s cheerful, calm, cooperative, and follows directions easily. If she has a problem, we give her vitamins instead of medicine since the vitamins work quickly.
Serena’s morning and evening program:
1 Children’s Vita-Lea, 1 Chewable Calcium, 1 Chewable E, 2-3 Chewable C. Plus, a drink that includes ¼ cup Meal Shake, 1 crushed B, 1 pierced GLA, 3T Soy Protein, and 1tsp Optiflora powder in milk or orange juice. (This was what she used before she could swallow vitamins.) Including the Optiflora capsule was important because ‘bad’ bacteria produce histamines which aggravate allergies and asthma. She quickly began taking Optiflora capsules by putting the capsule in the end of a straw and sipping liquid. Using this straw method, we’ve added Alfalfa and switched to the non-chewable versions of the vitamins she didn’t like.
It’s easy to help asthma and allergy sufferers by providing the body with the right nutrients.”
